Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-31
This page explains what data is collected when you visit sound-mafia.com, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to this site only, not to booking conversations, events, or anything that happens off the site.
Who we are
Sound Mafia provides sound systems, lighting and FX, and DJ booking for concerts and events across the Four States area, from Springfield, MO to Fayetteville, AR.
What we collect automatically
When you visit the site, our analytics tools record:
- Your IP address, which gives us your approximate city, not your exact location
- The browser and device you are using
- How you found the site (search engine, link, or direct visit)
- Which links and buttons you click (like Book Now)
- Anonymous identifiers stored in cookies, used to tell one visit apart from another
- How the page performs on your device (loading speed and similar technical measurements)
- A recording of how you interacted with the page: cursor movement, clicks, and scrolling, plus the heatmaps built from those recordings. This site has no forms and no text fields, so these recordings cannot contain anything you type. We use them to see how the page gets used and to improve it.
What we collect only if you give it to us
Nothing on this site asks you for personal information. If you tap the email link or the Book Now button, your own email app opens and you choose what to send us. The site itself does not collect your email address or anything you write.
Why we collect it
To understand how the site gets used, fix problems, and make the experience better. We do not sell your information, run advertising on this site, or build marketing profiles of you.
Tools and services we use
- Google Analytics 4 for page traffic and engagement. Property
G-8PKKTSHC7M. Google's privacy practices: policies.google.com/privacy
- Microsoft Clarity for the session recordings and heatmaps described above. Microsoft's privacy practices: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
- Google Search Console for search performance, covered by the same Google privacy policy
- Google Fonts to load the site's typefaces. Your browser fetches the fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address reaches Google as part of that request
- Cloudflare for security and content delivery. Cloudflare sets one essential cookie (described below) to protect the site from automated abuse
- DigitalOcean hosts the site. Like any web host, its servers process your IP address to deliver pages
How long data is kept
Google Analytics keeps event data for 14 months, then deletes it automatically. Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days. Recordings we mark to keep, and the heatmap data built from all recordings, are kept for up to 9 months.
Cookies
The site sets these cookies:
_ga and _ga_8PKKTSHC7M, set by Google Analytics to tell visitors apart. They expire after 2 years.
_clck, set by Microsoft Clarity to recognize you if you come back to the site. It lasts about one year.
_clsk, set by Microsoft Clarity to connect the page views in one visit into a single session recording.
__cf_bm, set by Cloudflare for bot protection. It is essential for security and expires within about 30 minutes.
- Microsoft may also set its own cookies (such as
MUID) when your browser talks to Clarity's servers. These are covered by Microsoft's privacy statement linked above.
The site does not set advertising or retargeting cookies.
Your choices
- Email [email protected] with any privacy question. Because this site does not collect anything that identifies you (no name, no account, no login), we generally cannot find or isolate one visitor's analytics or recording data. To keep future visits out of these tools, use the opt-out options below.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Opt out of Microsoft's analytics through the Digital Advertising Alliance page at optout.aboutads.info (select Microsoft). Clarity also honors the Global Privacy Control signal if your browser sends it.
- Set your browser to reject cookies. The site works fine without them; our analytics simply will not track your visit.
Children
This site does not collect information from anyone, including children. If a child emails us directly, we will delete the message.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent change.
